Training Week 4

I was looking back thru my blog recently, and noticed I haven't taken any pics or updated anything else except my running since Disneyland. So, I will have to work on that this week. We haven't been up to much lately but I will update soon.

As for my training, I had a bad week as a whole, but my running actually felt good. I wasn't sleeping the best and was exhausted, so come friday I was very nervous for my 11 miler on Saturday. But, I was determined to have a good run. So, I ate what I was supposed to and went to bed at a decent time. I was able to sleep for a good 8 hours and felt pretty rested come morning. I mapped out my route, filled my water bottles, set my ipod and as I am walking out the door Donald tells me he doesn't feel good about the route I picked because it is kindof a secluded path. At first I was very frustrated but decided to change my route so he could have peace of mind.
First 2 miles were a little tough but I kept telling myself to relax and just enjoy the run. About 4 miles in, my left leg strated cramping. Ugh! I stopped, stretched it a little and moved on. After about mile 5, I started to feel really great and go at a good 10:15 pace. I finished 11 miles under 2 hours at a 10:45 pace. I could have had a little faster time, but I had to stop at about 10 stoplights which all of them were red on my end. Overall, it was a great run and I am getting more and more excited to complete 26.2 miles!

Mon- core, legs
Tues- 3 miles walk/run in the freezing snow!
Wed- 6 miles at 10:45 pace
Thurs - 3 miles easy, core, arms
Sat- 11 miles 1:58 average 10:45 pace

Training -Week 3

I struggled a little more this week. My muscles were sore, and it reminded me that I need to roll them out more! But for mileage-so far so good. I am keeping on track with my schedule and feeling good about it all. I am following Hal Higdon's Novice 2 schedule).

This week:

Monday -core, arms, legs

Tuesday- 3.6 miles

Wed - 5 miles at 10:35 pace

Thurs- 2.65 miles, core and arms

Saturday- 6 miles at 11 min pace.

This week was a low mileage long run because next week is 11 miles. I am a little nervous about it, but excited to keep increasing mileage! I love how I feel after a long hard run.

Training- Week 2

2nd week down and feeling better each day I run! My eating is getting a little easier to stay on track and I feel so much better when I fuel my body properly. I did realize I was doing my weekly runs wrong. So I will have to switch the pace/easy runs around, but I still felt good through them all. The 9 miler was a little tough but I think it was because I didn't rest on friday. But overall... the week felt good!

Mon: Abs/weights

Tues: 3 miles at 10:15 pace

Wed: Abs/weights

Thurs: 5 Miles 11:30 pace

Fri: 3 miles-easy

Sat: 9 miles 10:40 pace.

RoqueMower Lawn Care

We started a lawn business in Wyoming and we are now starting it up here in Utah and decided to create a website. (Still have some changes to be made.)

Check it out and if you are in the Utah County area... let us know if you need any lawn care needs or know anyone that does! Donald loves to do it and I do have to say- he does an EXCELLENT job!

Why I do what I do!

I have been struggling lately with getting back on my meal plan. It seems I have been in a slump for awhile and just love to eat! Shocker.. right?! But I know that certain things are not good for my body, for my PCOS, and for my running.... so to motivate me to get back on track, I was looking through some old pictures!
Here is what I found!

I still have 25 lbs but am determined to get to my goal while I train for my marathon!

This is me and one of my best friends in Wyoming! She started her journey about 18 months ago, and is doing amazing! The before picture was taken in March 2010 and the after picture was taken before I left Sheridan in 2011. Both of us have lost even more now!

I don't post these to brag, but just to help keep me motivated and determined to eat healthy and to keep running and exercising! I have learned so much this past year about what my body needs and that I never want to go back to the person I was. I have changed mentally and physically and I love living a healthy lifestyle! (and fitting into cute jeans and smaller clothes:) I am so very grateful each and every day for the many people in my life that keep me on track and encourage me to never quit!

Week 1 of Training

I started my marathon training and am going to blog of my progress every week.

Week 1:
Mon 4.3 miles
Tues 2.6 miles + crosstrain
Wed walk 1 mile
Thurs crosstrain
Sat 8 miles

I am feeling ok. Having a tough time with getting back into the swing of it, but I am eating better and feeling stronger. On my runs, I have to remind myself why I am really doing this....it is because I love to run and have wanted to accomplilsh this goal for 3.5 years!

17 weeks to go!

And just a funny nightmare I had this week about the marathon: It was all uphill on a mountain trail, I was wearing fleece pajama pants that were unbelievably hot, my shoes didn't fit, I had to back track some of the course, and I forgot my headphones! WOW! Luckily it was just a dream! :)

"You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement." - Steve Prefontaine

Scrapbook Convention

The reason my mom was in Cali was for one of her Scrapbook conventions. On Friday we helped set up their booth before going to Disneyland.
My mom works for CK Media and this is one of her magazines.

Pic of their cute booth.

I was able to walk around a little on monday. And I met Elizabeth Kartchner. She does some amaizng things and it was really awesome to meet her! She was so nice!

I do have to admit though... all the scrapbooking stuff is little overwhelming at times. Lately, Shutterfly has been my best friend!
