WYO Rodeo Week

The WYO Rodeo is this week! Yes... it is a week long event here in Sheridan! It starts off with a boot kick off contest in the park on tuesday, BBQ's, concerts in the parks, 5k, Bed races, parade, carnival and the Rodeo... of course! It is pretty fun! We went to the Rodeo last night. We bought some tickets from a good friend and we had AWESOME seats! We had so much fun we are going again tomorrow night for the finals.



One of my good friends was a flag carrier! It was so cool to see her do it! Bullriding and the Bronco riding were my favorites to watch.
Boots and Spurs 5k
I ran it the 5k this morning. I didn't do the best but I still did it. I have been slacking since I ran my 1/2 marathon so I didn't feel the best in the race. But I am going to start training for another 1/2 marathon in Sept. Anyways, here is the race.
This was my running partner in green-Dorothy. We are in the same ward and have become good friends lately! She is an amazing lady and runner! Thank you Dorothy for running with me and helping me through it!
I finished in 36:18.Instead of t-shirts they gave us cowboy hats! I was so excited!
And of course... my wonderful husband was at the end cheering me on! He is such a good support to me! He is always supporting me in every race(and practice)... even if he tells me I'm crazy! Love you honey!
Bed Race
Then the bed races started.For those of you that don't know what they are... they race beds down main street. They have to have 2 people on the bed and 4 pushing. This is Bob's Super Cleans' team made up of our missionaries and 2 girls. (yes.. they got permission)
Don't you love the night gowns and caps?!?! Darlene is amazing and made all the bed attire and the outfits!
They didn't win this year. Bob and Darlene have been doing this for 20 years now and have many trophies! But this year the fire deptartment won. It was still so much fun to watch!

Independence Day

We had a WONDERFUL 4th of July! Donald actually had the day off and so we took full advantage of the festivities.

We started the day going to the ward breakfast. We were a little late and didn't get any food but it was still fun to see people and talk. Then we went to the hot rod show downtown. They had some AMAZING cars that of course Donald ooohed and awwwed over!





I told Donald one day he could own a hot rod... her is a starter for him! :)



After the car show, we went out to the Polo Ranch for a BBQ and the fireworks. Our good friends-the Mortenson's invited us and they had all sorts of good food and entertainment! It was so much fun!

At the lodge, they had the Teka Brock band. She was so good! We listened to her for quite awhile! They are a local band but she has recorded some in Nashville! It was awesome to get to see her!
Then we watched the AMAZING firework show! We were not very far from where they shot them off at, and so they went off right over our heads! They were choreographed to music but not patriotic music! that was the only disappointing part of it. I love listening to patriotic music while watching fireworks. But we had a WONDERFUL time with friends celebrating our freedom in this great country!

Happy 4th of July!

My heart swells with pride everytime I hear a patriotic song and when I see an American flag flying high! We are so blessed to live in the United States of America!


I am proud to be an AMERICAN!!!

Shaklee


So most of you know that I have been going to the doctor to try to get pregnant. Well, last October my doctor put me on metphormin which is supposed to help regulate my sugar levels. Well, I took it for about 3 months and was sooooo sick on it that I just couldn't take it anymore. My friend told me about Shaklee and so I thought I would try it because I knew I needed to do something else. I started taking some of their all natural pills(that have the same effect as the metphormin) and have not been sick on them AND... my blood sugar is down! So that is great for me. Now I just hope it will help with the whole pregnancy thing!


Anyways, since I bought a few bottles of these pills, I got a free website for 6 months.

Not much in the mood


I have not been in much of a mood to blog lately! I have so much to blog about but just have not wanted to. I will try to catch up this weekend.


I do have a couple things to say:

1) I have talked to one of my good good friends a ton these last few weeks and I just wanted to tell you that I am so grateful for friendships. She is having some difficult trials in life right now but yet she always tries to find the good in the situation and people-no matter what they say about her or do to her. She is an amazing person and friend to me. She has stood by my side since we were in 5th grade and has never once let me down. I learn so much from her and am strengthend by her testimony. She is a wonderful mother and wife and I hope that i can be just as good as she is! I am so thankful for her because I am a better person just by knowing her!


2)I had a conversation with my boss the other day that really stuck with me. He had just got back form a funeral of a friend. he told me about this guy and how he is one of those people that just makes you want to be better just by being around him. And you feel so much better about yourself and life when you leave them. My boss was very touched by this man and told me that he wanted to be one of those people that made you feel better about life. I started to think about that all day. I wish I could be that person too! I have a few friends that are like that(above mentioned) and I have been blessed because of them. I hope that i can be that kind of person one day! That is a new goal for me-to be kinder, more caring, happier, and more genuine.


3)Camp is in 3 weeks! EEK! I don't feel ready but yet I am just anxious to go!


4) Donald is back to work. He had a whole week off and it was not nearly enough time off. But who wants to go back to work?! He does get July 4th off! ANd I am so excited!


Anyways, I hope all is well with everybody. I hope to post pictures this weekend and catch up. We will see!
