Independence Day

We had a WONDERFUL 4th of July! Donald actually had the day off and so we took full advantage of the festivities.

We started the day going to the ward breakfast. We were a little late and didn't get any food but it was still fun to see people and talk. Then we went to the hot rod show downtown. They had some AMAZING cars that of course Donald ooohed and awwwed over!

I told Donald one day he could own a hot rod... her is a starter for him! :)

After the car show, we went out to the Polo Ranch for a BBQ and the fireworks. Our good friends-the Mortenson's invited us and they had all sorts of good food and entertainment! It was so much fun!

Bob and Darlene

The boys playing croquet(sp?) The boys plaing chubby bunny!
At the lodge, they had the Teka Brock band. She was so good! We listened to her for quite awhile! They are a local band but she has recorded some in Nashville! It was awesome to get to see her!
Then we watched the AMAZING firework show! We were not very far from where they shot them off at, and so they went off right over our heads! They were choreographed to music but not patriotic music! that was the only disappointing part of it. I love listening to patriotic music while watching fireworks. But we had a WONDERFUL time with friends celebrating our freedom in this great country!

What? No patriotic music? What in the world did they play?
